Summary |
A video presentation of the controversial and critically acclaimed play by Alex Buzo. With the action set on a chance midnight meeting between the ocker Norm and an urbane Pakistani student Ahmed, the script centres on issues of racism, alienation and prejudice. The contrast between Norm's aggressiveness and Ahmed's politeness and reserve leads the prey into a position where the bigotry turns to violence. A sharp, satirical classic from the 1960s, Norm and Ahmed is perhaps even more pertinent today than when it was written. A Film Australia production. Copyright - 2011 National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. Executive Producer: Tristram Miall Producer: Karl McPhee Director: Karl McPhee Writer: Alex Buzo DOP/Cinematographer: Bruce Hillyard Principal Cast: Max Cullen (Norm), Alex Pinder (Ahmed). |
