I am going to put this straight. It was the absulote worst book I have ever read. Violence without explanation. Characters killed off without cause. A knock off Percy Jackson that nobody will remember in 1 month.
Not recommended for children (or anyone else) X

I wanted to like this book. It was written up by critics as another option to Percy Jackson, which I liked for the mythological theme. But I found no comparison. It is poorly written, with very basic language and stilted plot. The writer never really develops any of the themes or characters, and it is full of gratuitous violence. After having read 385 pages, I was left feeling like nothing was explained. Not recommended overall, and definitely not recommended for children.
