Summary In this heartwarming memoir, Mohammed Yousuf takes us back to when he was first diagnosed with polio at a very young age and his journey to adulthood, facing hardships he could never have imagined. Having decided to leave India after obtaining an engineering degree, he pursued his education in the United States, finding more opportunity, encouragement, and acceptance for people with disabilities. Since moving to the US, he studied at Wayne State University, worked in both private and public sectors, and contributed to the state of the practice and innovation in ways he couldn’t have imagined. He now hopes to shine a bright light on others that have experienced similar obstacles by sharing how he overcame what seemed like never-ending rejection and exclusion.
