After proving that she can take care of a dog in the companion novel, "When Life Gives You OJ", eleven-year-old Zelly Fried gets her dog, but now she demonstrates the frustrating task of training her extra-wild puppy named "Ace". To complicate things further, her recently widowed grandpa, named "Ace", begins to date women. Although the confusion between "Ace-the-dog" and "Ace-the-grandpa" can get a bit monotonous, the story offers meaningful discussions related to grieving, while keeping the story light. Appropriate for ages 8 - 12 years old. pm
