SRP 2013 REVIEW: Jesse Eisenberg narrates this series on audio, so part of the decision of whether or not you'll like the audiobooks depends on whether you like Jesse. I personally think he's a great voice for the character of Cassel. When we left Cassel at the end of White Cat, he had uncovered a horrible spree, led by his brothers Baron and Philip. The worst part? They had used their magic to work Cassel and make him an unwitting participant. Now Cassel has to deal with the fallout of his discovery, the death of his brother, the Feds AND Zackaroff breathing down his neck, and the return of Lila, the girl he loves. Can Cassel figure out who killed his brother before they kill again? Will Cassel be able to hide his powers from both Zackaroff and the Feds? Will Cassel ever be able to figure out his relationship with Lila? The story ends with some great twists, and sets Cassel up for a whole mess of other problems in book #3, Black Heart. It's next on my to read list! This is an awesome series for teens who like a little magic and mystery, but want a supernatural love story that's actually well written and funny on purpose.
