| Summary |
Alex, a novelist with serious writer's block—and an even more serious gambling problem—needs to finish his novel to pay his gaming debts. Frantically working to complete his novel in 30 days, Alex (Luke Wilson) hires Emma (Kate Hudson), a stenographer with strongly held opinions. Now, as characters resembling Emma appear in Alex's work—and Emma challenges Alex's ideas at every turn—life begins to imitate art, and art to imitate life … and Emma's irritating, intriguing influence on the novelist develops into a love between ALEX & EMMA. Loosely based on the story behind the creation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's short novel The Gambler. |
