SRP 2011 REVIEW: It was very captivating and I found myself sharing the character's feelings and emotions as he was being abused by his mother, being treated as a slave. Many vivid sensory images appeared in my mind as I read.

SRP 2010 REVIEWS (3): #1) True-life account of how a child overcame years of horrifying child abuse to forge a life for himself free from the cycle of violence. Inspirational, albeit difficult to read at times. #2) This is the sadest book I ever read. #3) A child called it was a great story, but it was really sad. It's about a boy who is abused by his mother and has the will to stay alive. This is a great book and I think all teen should read it.
