SRP 2011 REVIEW: I enjoyed the story. The story follows the life of monarch butterfly's and their flights from Canada and USA to Mexico every year. The main character, Luz, was raised in a family who cherishes the monarch. As she travels from Wisconsin to Mexico, her journey leads her along interesting paths of self-discovery.

SRP 2011 REVIEW: This is the best book I've read so far this year. A truly touching story, perhaps a little cliche, but with so much heart. Luz is such an endearing protagonist and her optimism and youthful exuberance carry this novel. The symbolism of the monarch butterfly is expertly woven into the storyline and Luz's journey gives me the travel bug myself. I have never taken a proper road trip nor ventured across the border to Mexico and now I am inspired to do both!
