This is the story of the rescue of 33 trapped Chilean miners sealed over 2,000 feet underground. The book is divided into portions from the perspective of “Below” with the trapped miners and the perspective of “Above” where experts from around the world and loved ones work on rescue efforts. The international effort and teamwork of rescuers was just as fascinating as the miners’ struggles for survival with starvation and isolation. A great read for nonfiction lovers. Grades 4 - 6. - ab
