SRP 2011 REVIEW: I think this will be my favorite book of the year. I listened to the audio version and because of the dialects of the people involved, I think that added to an already great book. The author interviews more than 1,000 people in this story of The Great Migration. She tells the story by focusing on the lives of three wonderful people as they flee the south for northern or western cities. This non-fiction book covers 1915-1970. It is a great combination of narrative and research. The historical details in this book are moving and unforgettable. The world would be a better place if everyone would read this book.
