SRP 2012 REVIEW: At only129 pages, this book speaks volumes about the Japanese war brides who came to America. The author uses the voices of many women to describe their experience. I have never read a book like this. The word choice and writing were exceptional. NOT TO BE MISSED.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: Quick read on an interesting topic- "picture brides" from Japan. However, writing style took some time to get used to.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: Again, another lovely novel from Otsuka, this one about another perspective of the Japanese internment. Though I didn't enjoy it as much as the first novel, it had its own charms. The style of writing alternating between several dozen women sentence by sentence created a dizzying effect that really blew you over as you realized the enormous impact of these women. Difficult to describe so just go read it, again, along with the first.
