SRP 2012 REVIEW: This is one of my favorite books because I can relate to the main character's love of music. It is also very educational about the French Revolution.

SRP 2011 REVIEW: The main character Andie is so complex and deep that you are left pondering her characteristics until the end.

SRP 2011 REVIEW: This is, hands down, one of THE BEST books I've ever read. I started it this morning--technically afternoon--and literally COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. Six hours and 484 pages (including the boring stuff like the bibliography and author bio and stuff) later, I put it down, stunned. There are very few books out there that make the main characters seem real, much less the minor ones and the places and settings and all that other jazz. But this book does all of that and more. True, it's hard to keep track of all the names, especially since I've never been to any of those places, and most of them are French, but it all makes sense in the end. The story was riveting, literally. I'm not usually one for historical fiction, but this was amazing. Music was a huge theme for the story, and I loved it. There was lots of drama and intrigue and gore, since the history bit was the French Revolution. But that's ok, there's also a touch of romance, and problems and true friendship, so everyone can find something in there that they like. But I really really suggest that you read this book, even if you don't like any of those things. Because the characters reach out and touch you. And when you're done, you're never quite the same again.
