SRP 2012 REVIEW: I thought that this book showed a lot of compassion and desire to fly. When the main character, Bird and the "Jap" boy Kenji learn of the submarine in the bay, I really enjoyed the suspense, thrills, and twists of the actual historic events during WWII and the mysteries of the novel itself. The book reminded me of Flygirl from last year's Rebecca Caudill list . Also, I loved learning about the Abwehr, a German spy group which was created after WWI, in case of another war. If a war was to have begun, the spy's who were spread out across the globe, would create chaos in the countries. A summer, adventurous read!
