It has remained a family business, run by Adele’s five daughters. In 1965 Karl Lagerfeld took the design helm, steering Fendi towards mega success through innovations in fur, fabric, and technology. From the moment Lagerfeld linked two F’s, the Fendi logo became a status symbol. Fendi is still a family business of course, and Sylvia Fendi Venturini, Adele’s granddaughter, is responsible for the boom in accessories. In 1997, the baguette was the bag that launched a thousand trends. It’s Lagerfeld and Fendi’s casual approach to luxury that has helped the fashion house remain on top.
