SRP 2012 REVIEW: This book won the Booker of the Booker's; it is a huge story of the time that India broke free from British colonization. Told through a fictional account of Saleem, it resembles more of a biography to me, as we are immediately transported into his life which so closely parallels the growth of india as an independent nation.
