The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end-of-course (EOC) exams are state-mandated assessments based on the Texas state curriculum standards (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). These exams are designed to ensure that students are mastering the needed course material in preparation for success in higher education or careers. Students will take five STAAR EOC exams: Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, and U.S. History. Students must pass these tests in order to graduate from a Texas public high school. |
