SRP 2012 REVIEW: This book is another great one written by Roland Smith. It is about a boy's struggle with doing the one thing he loves, climbing. The main character of the book is Peak, and like his name suggests, both his mother and father loved to climb. After A tragic incident, his mother is deemed unable to climb. For this reason, she doesn't want Peak to climb, but he has to... its his passion. Peak gets in trouble for his climbing after doing a dangerous stunt. He is sent to juvie and they aren't sure what to do with him. Finally, the court decides to sent Peak to his dad (a now famous mountain climber) to spend the summer. While he's there Peak is able to experience the event of a lifetime... climbing Mount Everest! All that he has even dreamed of is coming true. If he succeeds he will become the youngest person ever to climb Mount Everest. But will Peak survive to tell his tale? Or even make it to the top?

SRP 2011 REVIEW: I loved this story because of the storyline. I like the part where Peak just outrules the Chinese general to the Chinese soldiers who wanted to finish the climb.

SRP 2011 REVIEW: Not as captivating as other Smith books but still a good one, especially later into the book. That was when I couldn't put it down, when the main character was climbing the mountain and evading the Chinese. Any slip on Everest can cost you.
