SRP 2011 REVIEW: My favorite book in the world! The characters are so well written by the close you feel as if you have known them your whole life. I could read it again and again!

I have absolutely no problem with reading long books (my favorite book ever is "The Mists of Avalon" which is nearly 900 pages), but the development of the plot is so leisurely that I got frustrated and gave up. How many times can the main character check on the shoulder wound of the Scotsman she's helped?? Next plot point, please!I enjoy the subject/time period (18th c. Scotland) and the idea of time travel, but it wasn't enough to keep me going. If you do enjoy this book, there's a series of half-a-dozen sequels, and more coming, each as thick as the original, so your reading list will be pretty much set for you for a while.
