SRP 2013 REVIEW: This was a really heavy and sad book. But what else can one expect from a WWII book about a time when people were considered dispensable and treated lesser than animals. It was difficult to read. Aside from the depressing content, the end was extremely abrupt and I felt no closure.

SRP 2013 REVIEW: A stark and haunting book about a Lithuaninan family and the little know atrocities Lithuanians, and other citizens of the Baltic countries, faced at the hands of the Russians during WWII.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: I recommend this book to learn about a part of history during World War II that is not that well known among the general public. It is good for adults, high school students, and mature middle school students.
