SRP 2011 REVIEW: A great good book with a good story. The culture not only of 20th century China, but also Chinese in America in that time is really eye-opening. I can't wait to read more by this author.

SRP 2011 REVIEW: Outstanding read. Found it really interesting learning the culture and history of China and women's place in society there and in America. Character strengths and weaknesses well developed. Plot unpredictable. Really like the style of the Lisa See's writing. Great read!!!!!

SRP 2010 REVIEWS (2): #1) This is a story of sisterhood, but I also love the immigrant story. Every immigrant has a story set in the context of historical world events, as I am reminded by this work of fiction. #2) Very interesting story of the immigrant journey from China to the U.S. Amazing the terrible situations these girls had to deal with.
