SRP 2010 REVIEW: This initial novel of the Dexter series inspired the Showtime TV series (which I have yet to see, though after reading this I am eagerly ordering the DVDs). It is a darkly funny book about a serial killer who kills serial killers. Yup, you read that right. Dexter works as a blood spatter expert, but in his spare time he haunts serial killers, and avenges the deaths of others in his own need to kill. Each chapter ends in suspense, and the final twist is truly killer. It is a thrilling and thoughtful read. I rarely read series, but I think I am hooked, and can't wait to read the rest of the Dexter books.
