SRP 2010 REVIEWS (2): #1) I like this book because it shows how to get over an obstacle in life. Jane, a girl who was attacked by a shark, must get her arm amputated. Facing life is a big problem for her, and she is hesitant to go outside with "chuck," or even without Chuck as people would stare. I also love the poetry format of this book, makes it interesting to read. #2) I must say Shark Girl was a pretty emotional book and i had a few tears here and there but it just really got down to the heart. With your brother going off to college, being embarrassed about your shark bitten arm,and spending hours in the hospital reading get well letters from strangers. Even your teacher making a joke out of your arm, having fights in your family, and coping up with it all. I do reccomend this well written story to GIRLS :)
