SRP 2011 REVIEW: In this series of short stories, Lahiri captures the lives and loves of Indian Americans struggling with issues of identity, cultural differences, and humanizing experiences. That being said, it appears as if her writing is limited only the immigrant experiences, which becomes slightly repetitious. However, Lahiri has crafted each narrative with perfected skill, slowly unfolding each tale like a hidden gem. The result is beautiful prose: easy to read and follow, easier to sympathize and remember.

SRP 2010 REVIEW: Although the stories are informed by the author's Indian culture, the stories are beautifully rendered and the messages transcend cultures.
