SRP 2013 REVIEW: I thought this book was sort of sad and filled with mixed emotions in my opinion. It was very detailed and well planned out.

SRP 2013 REVIEW: This book was not too good. It was kind of hard to follow. It was about Sasha. His dream is to be a Pioneer and serve Comrade Stalin. But the night before his pioneer ceremony, his dad gets arrested and is declared an enemy of the people. So he can't come. In the mean time, at school, Sasha accidentally breaks the nose off of a statue of Stalin. Vovka sees him do it. Four-Eyes takes the blame so he can go see his parents in prison. Then Nina, their teacher, declares Vovka an enemy of the people. He tries to strangle Nina. Sasha tries to seperate them. They all go to the principal's office. Sasha and Nina are allowed to go back. Sasha figures Vovka is telling on him. Vovka comes back with the State Security and find the nose in Nina's desk. She gets arrested. I recommend this book to people who like history.

SRP 2013 REVIEW: I thought it was a good book, but it was kind of a simple read for a Rebecca Caudill Book.

SRP 2013 REVIEW: An extremely brief read, however the novel accurately portrays the common child during Soviet rule. The protagonist was shown the true horrid face of the government he thoughtlessly trusted.
