mystery of a lost jazz baby |

Two antiquarians haltingly find romance as they work to discover clues as to what became of the celebrated and elusive Diana "Baby" Blythe when a box of her effects turns up in the mansion of her late sister as it is about to be sold. The layers of back story regarding artist-turned-antiquarian Cate is unnecessary, in fact it should have been stripped out completely to make the story much leaner with just the mystery of Baby Blythe and the mounting romance. Still, an enjoyable read.Readers may also like the novel "13 Rue Therese," the nonfiction book "The Red Leather Diary" and the film "Amelie" as they all contain similar discoveries of long-lost items that prove to be mysterious clues to another's life.
