Summary Ren MacCormack moves from Boston to the small town of Bomont, where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out. Bomont's councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore responded by invoking ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizes the town, and falls in love with the minister's troubled daughter, Ariel.

Better than I expected, but not the original.

This movie was actually better than I expected it to be. Dennis Quaid and Andie Mc Dowell did a good job as the reverend and his wife. Julianne hough played a good Ariel, and the new Kevin Bacon had a lot of talent both acting and dancing. However, this was definitelh not as good as the first movie, and I cannot for the life of me understand why they felt the need to remake it. Other than some changes and updating, like they use i-pods and cell phones, it really cannot compete with the original.
