This is a collection of 5 performed māori cultural stories, adapted from the musical puppet shows created for TORO PIKOPIKO PUPPETS from 2010 - 2020. Story 1 is Tāwhaki and the 3 Baskets of Kūmara - Tāwhaki is sent by Matakerepō, the Blind Keeper of Time, to deliver kūmara to her whānau. (11 minutes.) Story 2 is Tamarereti and the Star Seeds - Set on the shores of Taupō moana, Tamarereti seeds stars throughout the night skies. (9 minutes.) Story 3 is Tānenui-a-rangi and the Eyes of Tāwhirimātea - tells of how the Matariki galaxy of stars came to be. (11 minutes.) Story 4 is The Breath of The Wind/ Ko Te Hā o te Hau - Hine Raukatauri, takes her friends the rainbow fairies and birds from the bush on a wind borne journey. (13 minutes.) Story 5 is The Tangled Tails - about two titanic water entities, whose entangled lives span across the eons. (22 minutes.) |
