With a 'no witness' policy, they murder the entire family. Truman Capote, a popular writer for The New Yorker, learns about the horrific and senseless murder. Inspired by the story material, Capote and his partner, Harper Lee, travel to Holcomb to do research for an article. As Capote digs deeper into the story, he decides to expand the project into what would be his greatest work, 'In Cold Blood.' He arranges extensive interviews with Smith and Hickock, especially with Smith, a man with a troubled history. As he works on his book, Capote feels some compassion for Smith and helps the duo get a new lawyer. However, that feeling deeply conflicts with his need to finished his book which only an execution can provide. That conflict and the mixed motives for both interviewer and subject make for a troubling experience that would produce an literary account that would redefine modern non-fiction. 520 In cold blood: A hard hitting docu-drama about two ex-cons who ruthlessly murder a Kansas family in 1959 in order to steal their non-existent stash of money. 521 8 Capote: MPAA rating: R, for some violent images and brief strong language; In cold blood rated R. 538 Blu-ray Disc; regions A, B and C, widescreen (2.35:1); 1080p High Definition ; (Special feature: Dolby Digital stereo., standard definition). 538 System requirements: Blu-ray optical disc player and HD TV. 538 This Blu-ray disc will not play in standard DVD players. 546 Capote: English (TrueHD 5.1), dubbed French (TrueHD 5.1), dubbed Portuguese (TrueHD 5.1) and dubbed Spanish (Dolby 5.1) soundtracks with optional Arabic, Dutch, English, French, Portuguese or Spanish subtitles and optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing ; In cold blood: English (TrueHD 5.1) and dubbed French (TrueHD 5.1) soundtracks with optional Arabic, Dutch, English, or French subtitles and optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing ; (Special features: English soundtrack with optional Dutch, French, Portuguese and Spanish subtitles). 600 10 Capote, Truman,|d1924-1984|vDrama. 600 10 Smith, Perry Edward,|d1928-1965|vDrama. 600 10 Hickock, Richard Eugene,|d1931-1965|vDrama. 650 0 Authors, American|y20th century|vDrama|vVideodiscs. 650 0 Gay authors|zUnited States|vDrama|vVideodiscs. 650 0 Murder|zKansas|vDrama|vVideodiscs. 650 0 Murder|xInvestigation|zKansas|vDrama|vVideodiscs. 650 0 Blu-ray discs. 655 7 Biographical films.|2lcgft 655 7 Crime films.|2lcgft 655 7 Feature films.|2lcgft 655 7 Video recordings for the hearing impaired.|2lcgft 700 1 Miller, Bennett. 700 1 Baron, Caroline. 700 1 Vince, William. 700 1 Ohoven, Michael. 700 1 Futterman, Dan,|d1967- 700 1 Hoffman, Philip Seymour,|d1967-2014. 700 1 Keener, Catherine. 700 1 Collins, Clifton,|cJr. 700 1 Greenwood, Bruce,|d1956- 700 1 Balaban, Bob. 700 1 Pellegrino, Mark. 700 1 Cooper, Chris,|d1951- 700 1 Danna, Mychael. 700 1 Clarke, Gerald,|d1937-|tCapote. 700 1 Brooks, Richard,|d1912-1992. 700 1 Blake, Robert,|d1933- 700 1 Wilson, Scott,|d1942- 700 1 Forsythe, John,|d1918-2010. 700 1 Stewart, Paul,|d1908-1986. 700 1 O'Loughlin, Gerald S. 700 1 Corey, Jeff,|d1914-2002. 700 1 Storey, Ruth,|d1913-1997. 700 1 Jones, Quincy,|d1933- 700 1 Capote, Truman,|d1924-1984.|tIn cold blood. 710 2 United Artists Corporation. 710 2 Sony Pictures Classics (Firm) 710 2 A-Line Pictures. 710 2 Cooper's Town Productions (Firm) 710 2 Infinity Media (Firm) 710 2 Columbia Pictures Corporation. 710 2 Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (Firm) 730 0 Capote (Motion picture) 730 0 In cold blood (Motion picture) 994 C0|bJFN
