| Summary |
Travel through the boulevards of the City of Lights with an Iranian musician in exile, who is working as a taxi driver. This remarkable film takes you on a stunning tour of the city's world-famous landmarks as well as through the neglected and desperate streets most tourists never visit. His passengers are a fascinating cross-section of cultures, classes, languages, and ages. Our guide, Ahmad engages them with blunt questions and through the language of music. During the extended period of filming, Paris suffers a terrorist attack on the popular Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine. These events become transformative for Ahmad himself. His camera becomes an illuminative eye to illustrate the depth of difficulties that people face - from bureaucratic problems to immigration and homelessness. Amidst the many problems that he and his camera capture, there are even more surprising and wondrous moments revealing the beauty of music, humanity and ultimately the hope we all hold in our hearts. |
