Disc two: The dinosaur and the baby (1967): a conversation between Jean-Luc Godard and Fritz Lang (60 min.); Encounter with Fritz Lang (1963): a short film by Peter Fleischmann; two 1963 documentaries by Jacques Rozier featuring Godard on the set of Contempt: Bardot et Godard and Paparazzi; Jean-Luc Godard interview excerpt from the French television program Cinepanorama (1964); interview with cinematographer Raoul Coutard (2002); original theatrical trailer. 500 For specific features see interactive menu. 508 Cinematography, Raoul Coutard; editor, Agnès Guillemot; music, Georges Delerue. 511 1 Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli, Jack Palance, Giorgia Moll, Fritz Lang. 520 On Capri, an Italian crew makes a German film of Homer's Odyssey; Fritz Lang directs with American money. Prokosch, the producer, with his sneer and red Alfa, holds art films in contempt and hires writer Javal to help Lang commercialize the picture. Against this backdrop, Javal's marriage to Camille, a young former typist, disintegrates. It opens with the couple talking in bed, she asking assurance that he finds her attractive. Later that day he introduces her to Prokosch, and, unawares, blunders unforgivably. The rest of the film portrays her, in their apartment and in public, expressing her hurt and change of heart and his slow grasp of the source of her contempt. 521 8 MPAA rating: Not rated. 538 DVD, region 1, widescreen (2.35:1) presentation, enhanced for 16:9 widescreen televisions; RSDL dual-layer; Dolby digital 1.0. 546 French or English dialogue, optional English subtitles. 600 10 Godard, Jean-Luc,|d1930-|vInterviews. 600 10 Lang, Fritz,|d1890-1976|vInterviews. 600 10 Coutard, Raoul|vInterviews. 650 0 Man-woman relationships|zItaly|zCapri Island|vDrama |vVideodiscs. 650 0 Screenwriters|zItaly|zCapri Island|vDrama|vVideodiscs. 650 0 DVDs. 655 7 Feature films.|2lcgft 655 7 Motion pictures|zFrance.|2lcgft 690 FOREIGN FILMS (FRENCH), VIDEODISCS. 700 1 Godard, Jean-Luc,|d1930- 700 1 Bardot, Brigitte. 700 1 Piccoli, Michel,|d1925-2020 700 1 Palance, Jack,|d1919-2006. 700 1 Moll, Giorgia,|d1938- 700 1 Lang, Fritz,|d1890-1976. 700 1 Coutard, Raoul. 700 1 Moravia, Alberto,|d1907-1990.|tDisprezzo. 710 2 Rome Paris Films. 710 2 Films Concordia (Paris, France) 710 2 Compagnia Cinematografica Champion. 710 2 Criterion Collection (Firm) 830 0 Criterion collection (DVD videodiscs) ;|v171. 830 0 Classic collection (Chicago, Ill.)
