| Summary |
While most investigators like to claim "danger" as their middle name, in the case of Frank McKlusky, (Dave Sheridan) he prefers "safety" as his calling card. "Frank McKlusky C.I." chronicles the zany antics of an overzealous insurance claims investigator who's closer in methodology to Inspector Clouseau than Inspector Morse. Limiting Frank's investigative abilities is his aversion to risk, an idiosyncrasy subsequent of his daredevil father Madman McKlusky's (Randy Quaid) incapacitation while attempting his infamous "motorpyshco" stunt twenty years prior. Raised by his over-protective mother Edith (Dolly Parton), who is determined not to let her son follow in his father footsteps, she insists that Frank's helmet, kneepads, elbow pads, handbooks and manuals become the staples of his everyday life. Looking to be promoted and tired of being the laughing stock of the office and the butt of his co-worker Herb's (Andy Richter) jokes, Frank and his partner Jimmy (Kevin Farley) decide to investigate a suspicious paid out claim made by Scout Bayou, (Enrico Colantoni) a bald man in a wheel chair who they believe can run like the wind. When Frank's partner and best friend is killed during the early stages of their investigation, he vows to honor his promise and finish what they've started. Teaming with his new sexy junior partner Sharon (Cameron Richardson) to uncover the truth, Frank sheds his hyper-cautious persona, entangling himself in many perilous situations resulting in outrageously compromising outcomes. With the help of his many classic '80s bad television disguises, Frank McKlusky C.I. steps out of being the "in the van guy" and into life, discovering that success is in the morass of risk and chance. |
