Summary |
This program presents the two-stage model of community health needs assessments outlined by Hawe, Degeling and Hall (1990) in their text "Evaluating Health Promotion". Using a variety of case studies, the program explores each of the steps presented in this model. A health needs assessment helps identify priority needs, and can assist health professionals devise more effective interventions in health promotion. Clearly identifying priority health issues and target groups is integral to program planning and evaluation. Through practical examples and case studies, this program illustrates some of the many ways in which needs assessments can be carried out and used. |
