SRP 2013 REVIEW: I have read half of Ms. Picoult's novels and this is the first one that I had some challenge getting through. Each chapter goes back and forth between the main 3 characters. At times, there seem to be an overemphasis on the history/past of one of the characters that did not add much more to the story, in my opinion.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: Her books are thought provoking and very "deep". Her characters and situations are real as they deal with divorce, death, life support, and reconciliation.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: I love any books by Jodi Picoult. This one took me a bit longer to get engaged in the story, but after a few chapters I was hooked and finished the book in a few days.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: Some of Picoult's books I have liked and some have been soso. This is one I really liked. The issues of an estranged family, ethical medical issues and the many facets of the a wolf's life are explored in this book. I thought it a winner.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: Cara lives with her father who is a notable wolf biologist. Luke Warren is more like his wolfs than a human. He has lived among them in the wild and been a part of their packs. When a car accident turns their lives around, Cara's long lost brother, Edward, has come home to make end-of-life decisions for brain dead Luke. Cara and Edward butt heads over whether or not Luke should be kept on life support. Not as emotional as most of Jodi's books. But very interesting way to learn about wolf packs.

SRP 2012 REVIEW: This book is a good book, but not great. Although it was a riveting novel, it lacked sound plot structure. Moments in the book seemed very unrealistic, and hard to believe. It is told through the voice of a young wolf, cast off because of its imperfect paw. The mother for some reason did not fight for her pup or even argue. She simply let the wolf clan take her baby away and kill him. I thought this book was a simple time-pass novel.
