| Summary |
An often-overlooked film from the early career of prolific French director Claude Chabrol (*The Swindle*), THE THIRD LOVER follows Albin Mercier, a failed journalist, is writing an article in Germany. When he meets a couple who seem very close, he becomes jealous and sets out to destroy their relationship. He discovers that the young woman has a lover and blackmails her emotionally. The restored version of the film was an Official Selection at the **Venice International Film Festival.** |
