Summary |
Brittania Hospital attempts to put on its best face in preparation for a visit from the Queen Mother, despite the presence of dissatisfied patients, angry protesters, and a chief surgeon turned mad scientist. This very British black comedy mixes broad farce with pointed political satire and features a large ensemble cast including Malcolm McDowell (*A Clockwork Orange*). Nominated for a Palme d'Or at the **Cannes Film Festival.** *"...an outrageous satire on an empire's decline..." - Vincent Canby, **The New York Times*** |
