They are told individually that due to a technicality - an unresolved municipal and state jurisdictional issue at the time of their supposed marriage - their wedding was not legal, and as such they are not really married ; Woman of the year: Sam Craig is a down-to-earth sportswriter a newspaper. Tess Harding, the paper's international columnist, makes his life miserable and they start taking swipes at each other in their columns.
