Ungers, Walter Wallman 518 Originally produced by Michael Blackwood Productions in 1986. 520 In 1979, the city of Frankfurt commissioned Oswald Mathias Ungers, one of Germany's best-known architects, to design a museum for architecture. The museum was to be housed in an 80 year-old villa on the riverbank. Ungers came up with a scheme to preserve the villa, while designing new exhibition space inside the house and around its base on the perimeter. He gutted the villa to make a new house within an old one. Admired by post-Modernists, Ungers explores abstract intellectual ideas in his search for a new modern architecture, while referencing historical traditions and contexts. 538 Mode of access: World Wide Web. 546 In English 650 0 Architecture. 650 0 Artists. 650 0 Documentary films. 655 7 Documentary films.|2lcgft 700 1 Kessler, Bodo,|efilm director. 700 1 Klotz, Heinrich,|eactor. 700 1 Ungers, O.M.,|eactor. 700 1 Wallman, Walter,|eactor. 710 2 Michael Blackwood Productions (Firm),|4dst 710 2 Kanopy (Firm),|4dst 856 40 |uhttps://naperville.kanopy.com/node/5577929|zStreaming Video Kanopy 856 42 |zCover Image|uhttps://www.kanopy.com/node/5577929/ external-image
