Summary R. D. Blackmore transports listeners back to the 17th century where the infamous Doone clan preside over the region, imposing their whims and callously removing anyone who stands in their way. They are loathed throughout the area, but it is the upstanding and worthy John Ridd who holds the ultimate grudge. The situation escalates when Ridd first catches sight of Doone heiress Lorna. He is powerless to prevent himself from falling in love and an almighty clash of wills ensues.
