Summary Percy Talbot, a young woman who has just been released from prison after serving five years for manslaughter, decides to move to the small town of Gilead, Maine for a fresh start. Percy takes a job at the Spitfire Grill, the only restaurant in a town suspicious of outsiders, where she slowly gains the trust of [most of] the townspeople, finding acceptance and redemption.
