SRP 2011 REVIEW: At the outset, this book captivated my attention with its style like a memoir, and the anticipation I felt along with the narrator. The book was suspenseful, while also providing a lot of information about the relationship between the UK and China in the early 20th century. However, I did feel that the climax of the book fell flat, and left me slightly disappointed at the ending.
