Summary |
When organized crime appeared in the Mexican community of Ostula, repression, murders and enforced disappearances soon became part of the daily life. The entire community was displaced and the drug cartel took their land. In 2014, Community members with the help of armed self-defense groups returned to Xayakalan, a town they founded near Ostula. Recovering Paradise documents the community's fight to live in peace on their homeland. |
