| Summary |
All fourteen-year-old Sharon Spitz wants, is to hang out with her friends, play with her dogs and cats, and survive the social maze of her first year of high school. And keep snobby Nina Harper away from her steady boyfriend. And hey, is it too much to ask for veggie burgers in the cafeteria? Sharon's like most girls her age - full of passion and ambition...and frustrated by the usual helping of annoying teenage problems. But she could totally cope if it weren't for one teeny, tiny thing...Thanks to a mysterious accident at the orthodontist's office, Sharon's braces do some pretty wild stuff! They tune in cel phone conversations, mess with answering machines, and even work as magnets. Which would be cool - if she had any control over the dumb things. But instead, they really complicate her life. You try explaining why your braces have pinned you to your locker!Despite the double-whammy of braces and puberty, Sharon manages to cling to her sanity and self-confidence, and even have a little fun once in a while - despite a curfew that is SO medieval.
