Summary |
In director Eugène Green's elegant and poignant La Sapienza, architect Alexandre (Fabrizio Rongione) and social scientist Aliénor (Christelle Prot Landman) retreat to Stresa, Italy, intent on climbing out of the emotional malaise that has trapped their marriage. As Alexandre prepares a long-deferred book on the great Baroque architect Francesco Borromini, the couple happens upon a pair of charming young siblings: Goffredo (Ludovico Succio), a prospective architecture student, and Lavinia (Arianna Nastro), who suffers from a rare nervous disorder. Moved to take the siblings under their wing, Alexandre and Aliénor commence an inner journey that rekindles their passion for life, work, and each other. |
