Summary Barbara Cooney's famous tale Miss Rumphius is paired with her own favorite, Island Boy, in this recording. Miss Rumphius exhorts the listener to follow her example in life, conciously do somthing to make the world more beautiful. In Island Boy the full circle of life is told, young Mathais is born on an island off the coast of Maine, and lives a good long life of hard work and loving family, altho' it's not without tragedy. Tracy Lord is a master at interpretation of children's books, her warm, lilting voice can be listened to over and over.
