Summary Today she had an eight-hour shift, and peculiar customers didn't help at all with improving her mood. On the whole, however, she liked her job. She had the chance to get to know different with people, listening to their stories. That evening they hosted a birthday party for twin brothers. The sight of them made her nostalgic without knowing or wanting to find out why. They sat at one of her tables and when she brought them the cake they asked her to join them to blow the candles. She would rather leave but the compelling look of her boss, waiting for her to accept their proposal prevented her from leaving. All this joy radiating from each of them suffocated her, but she kept her smile on and waited until this was over. When at last the clock showed eleven, she served the last coffee and took off the ugly orange shirt that all employees had to wear, and burst into the street with a single thought on her mind: how warm and comfortable her bed would be. Even though a rainy and tiresome day like that accounted for such a thought, she knew that it was pathetic. She had to get a life, make friends, find interests. She didn't bring an umbrella or a raincoat, so nothing stopped the drops of rain to douse her clothes. But this was no reason for her to hurry. She enjoyed the rain. Okay, maybe wet clothes sticking onto the skin wasn't the best thing but the sense of rain caressing her face was worth the slight discomfort. For a while, she splattered in a flooded pothole on the tarmac wetting her socks and even made some twists around herself. Several faces turned to look at her but it wouldn't intimidate her. Yet, she got a grip of herself and took the road to the bus stop.
