Summary |
Looks at how the war impacted women and how these women played a key role on the home front during World War Two. The way women were viewed changed drastically during the war years. The War at Home looks at how women took up jobs in important industry, helped grow and harvest food. Some even picked up a ball and bat and took part in a fledgling women's professional baseball league. Complicating things was an invasion of sorts - war brides began to arrive from war torn Britain. All this happened during the war at home. |
