My Account
With a Naperville Public Library card you can use the Library catalog to
• review/modify your personal information:
  • modify PIN, add or change your email address, set your default pick up location, and
    select how you receive library notices (postal mail or email).
• view the items checked out
renew items
reserve materials, view your place in the HOLD queue, change pick-up location, or freeze a hold
• create your list of titles and save
• view your Reading History
save your preferred searches from the catalog to your account
• save your preferred online databases group using My ResearchPro (Research Pro )
• receive uptodate information about your account(holds, fees and fines) through RSS feed using My Account Feeds

To do so click on My Account, enter enter of your barcode and your PIN(usually last 4 digits of your phone number).


Reading History You can opt in to have the items you check out saved in Reading History
• Login to your account
• Click on Reading History button
• To opt in, click on Subscribe
• If you wishes to opt out after subscribing, click on Unsubscribe
• The Reading History list will appear below the Unsubscribe button line

RESERVE MATERIALS
Place a Hold –
• Click on Place a hold link/button either from Summary screen or Full description screen
• Enter library card barcode and PIN
• Request Verification page displays
• Choose a pick up location
• It is not necessary to enter a Cancel if not filled by date
• Click on Submit
• A confirmation message will appear that will read:
Your request for [title of item] was successful. You will be able to pick up this material at [location chosen] when it is ready.

Holds on Magazines and Multivolume Works –
• Pull up record for a magazine or item with multiple volumes/parts
• Click on Place a hold link/button
• Enter library card barcode and PIN
• Request Verification page displays
• Choose a pickup location
• It is not necessary to enter a Cancel if not filled by date
• Click on Submit
• An Item Selection Form displays
• Click on the radio button next to the issue or part desired
• Click on Request Selected Item button at the very bottom of the list
• A confirmation message will appear that will read:
Your request for [title] was successful (followed by 3 boxes with the details of the issue/part you requested). You will be able to pick up this material at [location chosen] when it is ready.

Freezing Holds –
• Login to My Account
• In the middle of the screen is a link to the number of requests (holds)
• Click on the requests (holds) link
• A list of items on hold will appear
• The far right column is labeled Freeze
• A box will appear in that column next to any titles that can be frozen (inactivated)
• Click on Save Changes button

Add to My ListCreate lists of titles using the Add to My List link or Save Records button:
• Add to My List link can be found above the location information of a title in the results list
• Save Records button can be found at the top of the full record screen of a title
• Click on either link to save the chosen title to list
• Click on View Saved button to view saved list
• This list is not saved to your account
• Use Export Saved button to email saved list
• Use Multiple Request button to place holds on items in list
   • Choose a pick up location in pull-down menu
   • Tag the item(s) to place on hold
   • Click on Request Selected to place selected items on hold
